I am so glad someone made this petition because he does not deserve a sentence at all! He should know not to say stuff like that now but he was never a threat to anyone!

I have been praying for Jimmy ever since I heard about it. We all make mistakes from time to time. My heart says Jimmy does not deserve 3 years locked away because of this mistake. To err is human. To forgive divine. I will continue to pray for this tragedy. There is so much to it. Wanting Jimmy to know that God can bring good out of what seems like a hopeless situation! I will continue too pray for Jimmy's peace of mind and heart through the whole process.

Sure it was a joke in bad taste but he apologized directly after for it and it should have been obvious he meant nothing by it. I would say the report was faulty. He should by no means be penalized for this.

He apolgized and the University took this way to far. He is a good kid that made a stupid remark and quickly understood that and apolgized..

Prayers are going out to him and his family. I knew of Jimmy when I used to live in Nashville. Always seemed like a nice guy! Sorry that everything has been blown out of the water!

WHAT is sthe Hamilton County Police Department trying to prove here? It is obvious that Jimmy Gaines, in his frustration, uttered some inappropriate comments. Who of us haven't from time to time? But, he immediately recognized his harsh words and apologized. The FBI recognized that Jimmy is not a threat. What's wrong with the Hamilton County Police that they can't see that, instead of trying the ruin the life of this young man?

How many of us are innocent of ever making this kind of empty threat. I heard several parents threaten to kill their kids just tonight. Lets use some common sense. The possible penalty for this young man seems way out of proportion to the "crime."
