SAU Lockdown -Jimmy Gaines- made a mistake, faces possible 3 year jail sentence! MUST read, Sign The Petition today!

This could have happened to anyone. Please sign this and help an undergrad classmate of mine. Please.

I have known Jimmy since he was in my class in elementary school. He would never be serious about something like this. It seems to me that Southern should support him. Three years in prison is absurd!! I'm hoping there will be many people praying tonight and tomorrow.

My best friend in the whole world. He is the biggest jokester i know and would never hurt a fly. He has the love of the Lord in his heart and is just trying to make a difference in the world for the better.

Having dealt with Southern's Records department, I know it is impossibly frustrating it is to get things done. Any normal person can get to the point of ridiculous jokes in that situation. It may not have been right, but a frustrated comment or joke should never make someone a felon.

I'd go back into lockdown for the day to free this guy! Don't ruin his life.

Have mercy. No harm no wrong! He comes from a good family. He's a good guy! Please don't ruin his life over nothing.

The authorities have to justify their overreaction and response. They feel that doing all that they did and then saying nobody is charged makes them look silly...

This guy made an honest mistake and the punishment which they want to serve does not fit the crime.

Hi everyone. I am extremely close to this situation. Jimmy is NOT in jail. As of this writing, he is a free man. This does not mean he is out of the water. His trial date is set for March 6. He needs constant prayer, support, and love. This ordeal has not been easy on him. Thankfully he is a man of faith and has given this to God. Jimmy did nothing wrong, and I have full confidence our courts will recognize that immediately.

A jail sentence is not an appropriate sentence for this young man. It will not benefit him not the city.

I am a graduate of Southern '09, and i too understand the frustration of dealing with the administration at times. I don't know Jimmy but i believe a 3 yr sentence is unnecessary. A few hours of community service and a fine in order to pay for all the money spent on law enforcement should suffice. There is no need to ruin this young mans life or try to make an example of him.

I would hate for us Adventist brothers and sisters to be the ones to pass judgement or deny forgiveness. We all make mistakes and this gentleman apologized right after. Haven't we all gotten upset before?

Southern didn't charge Jimmy with anything. Hamilton County Sheriff's department did. Southern, as an institution, had very little to do with what happened to Jimmy. In fact, much of the support Jimmy has received has come from employees at Southern Adventist University.
