Maybe a slap on the wrist, but what about the lady who made the call? She would be more to blame than Jimmy for giving a false account or mistaken account.

Who among us hasn't said something in frustration that they really don't mean. If the FBI is satisified I can't understand why Hamilton County can't be. He's even being supported by Southern Adventist University! I feel after the investigation was completed, now they are just trying to make an example of him, a young man who is a christian who has never been in trouble, and has lofty plans of service to others!

This was not handled correctly and I am so sorry that Mr. Gaines had to sit in a jail cell over this.

3 years for a comment is a shame. never mind there are criminals walking freely continuing to commit crimes and hurt people. Jimmy has not hurt anyone.

This was an off-hand remark, obviously made in frustration and obviously with no intent of carrying through. A three year sentence is completely unnecessary. I'm sure many people have said the same sort of thing, only nobody reported it as a threat because it was obviously interpreted the way it was meant: as a display of frustration!
