I have met Jimmy Armfield several times and I am always astounded how much passion and energy he still puts in to community and charitable projects. He is already a legend and to be knighted would be just a fraction of what this man deserves.

This man is truly sensational in everything he does. He is a credit to our town, our football club and our great sport. Jimmy Armfield deserves at the very least... a knighthood!

This would be a richly deserved honour for a great servant of the game of football, his local community and indeed the country.
