We have an even worse situation at Verdi in 6th grade! We have had 2 long term subs since the beginning of the year, 33 students, 7 special needs children, and many horrible behaviors. Because of this overage policy, which is not at all in the benefit of the children, we don't even have a full time teacher to date! And we are 7 weeks into the school year... almost 2 months! Way to fail all of our kids in the district! I sure hope Mrs. O gets to stay!!!

Class size is such a huge factor in the kids’ learning experience. Losing an allocation is hard on everyone.

WCSD Administrators, you must correct this flawed reallocation policy. It just does not make sense for the children or the teachers. First graders don't understand what is happening. All they know is the teacher they love is now gone, and they have to start over with a new teacher, 6 weeks into the school year, who may or may not have experience teaching first grade. The "reallocated" teacher must also start all over with a new classroom and a new school. Perhaps some of the WCSD Administrators should be "reallocated".

This makes no sense, changing things after everyone has settled in, especially given the small number of students involved. Smaller classes are better for students and teachers!

As a grand father of two children attending Jesse back elementary school, I am deeply concerned About the elimination of my grandson’s first grade teacher. He deeply love school right now but I have great concern he will be discouraged and turned off to education in school if this happens. It is a terrible time of the year to do something like this. I oppose this strongly.

This kind of action in our schools not only creates a lack of trust within the parent/child community, it also creates a great deal of anger and dissuades support among voters when the district needs the community to support a bond issue or any other action. Classes are far too crowded, good teachers are under paid and bad teachers are allowed to keep their jobs despite poor outcomes in their classrooms. From all of the comments I see from parents, this teacher is a great asset to the WCSD. Don’t discourage her and others like her from continuing on their path to becomin great educators. I know several young teachers who have now gone on to other careers after being ripped from one school after another.

This is getting worse and worse. WCSD needs to figure it out. Students should always come first! Maybe they should decrease the admin to teacher ratio instead of student to teacher ratio, but I guess that would make too much sense.

I am seeing a pattern in the decision making by the Washoe County School District administration, which is not inline with the goal of ensuring every child's educational needs and goals are met. These are children and teachers and they need to be supported, not unnecessarily hindered. Washoe County, come up with a new plan that is not to the detriment to all of these children. When will it stop?!

Maybe Washoe county should pay the super intendant less and hire more teachers! The point of school is to learn not over pay someone to drive from Vegas
