We were shocked and dismayed at the outcome of the principal selection here at Jerabek. We WANT to keep Diana Grijalva!! Diana Grijalva has been an amazing asset to our community. She was placed in the interim position after our principal took a leave of absence. In that time, Mrs. Grijalva came in, looked at data, held parent meetings, and has made hard decisions. These have ranged from the very basic of safety with finally locking the front gates, actively resolving bullying on the playgrounds to bringing in a sense of pride in the community with Monday morning assembly that highlights student accomplishments. She is implementing long overdue change needed to bring our school back to a desired school and not one that has many parents choicing in elsewhere.We feel these decisions have been made on behalf of the betterment of our school and our children. These decisions had to be made! These decisions were not popular amongst a select few. This has lead to a public display of discontent. These few have dominated the committees for the selection criteria and made their way onto the Interview Committee. A democratic vote across the school would provide strongly opposite results in favor of keeping her! Please KEEP Mrs. Grijalva!!!
