I believe 100% that the Gym should be named after & dedicated to this man. He was always so kind & helpful. He was the true meaning of what a Teacher should be!! Future Physical Education teachers will have BIG shoes to fill, but when they walk in there every day and see his name & remember the man he was, they will do better!

Jeff is the most influential coach to ever grace the gymnasium at HMSHS. His life lessons stem far beyond those sidelines. This is the least the community could do to honor someone so special to so many.

He was a icon as a coach a role model as a person too look up to when you had no one else. He took you for u who u were and didn't care what troubles u might off had . He just wanted to know will you run fast when I ask u to. He cared about me as a person but understood I wasnt ur typical student. I was suppose to play baseball for Danny Kerns but he want my hair cut short to play. That was the first time I felt I was being judged by my appearance, it bothered me for a couple off days, then a coach I never really knew called my name in the hallway and said "I heard ur fast" I said yeah I think so. Then he said " well u run for me and u won't ever have to cut that hair" I have a relay spot with ur name on it. I instantly knew that I was gonna run my ass off for this man . The Relay team would have shattered the state record of one off the key players would have been there and to this day it's a thorn in the friendship but it wasn't about the record it's was about a coach hat went and talked to guys like me that had ability but didn't look the part I know he made Hancock a better school not just the sports teams just overall student morale. May he rest in piece.

What a terrific idea. Great way for us to give a little something back to Coach in return for all he did for us.

Definitely think the gymnasium should be named after Coach Spielman, he was a great coach and just a great person, he never had a mean thing to say, and always had a smile on his face. He always had nice words to say, and a listening ear if you ever needed one. He is sadly missed and will always be remembered for his kindness and dedication he gave as a coach!!!!
