as parents we need more time to spend with our children. They not only learn from school. A mother is the teacher of a child. Also vacations

Aug 10th is still summer and it's too hard to juggle that and keep kids focused for school

I am all about our kids learning but the kids need to travel and see the world!! When do the families have time to travel when school starts in August. Kids learn from books but remember and learn more from hand on adventures

Thats to early these kids work hard all year and we as parents like to take vacations for all the hard work they have done and so the students can relax from all the hard and stressful events from school they need more than just 1 month or 2 off !!!!!!!!

That is way to early for school to start. Go back to starting in late Aug stop the fall break and all of the in service days that are uncalled for

School starts much too early as it is. It is not necessary for all the break days and inservice days as it is.

I know students need a certain number of instructional days, but I'd rather they get fewer days off during the year, and a longer summer. With a truncated summer, it's harder to plan family vacations and attend summer camps. For families that rely on summer programs for summer care, incidental days off are a nightmare. Please push it back.

I believe they get burned out when they start too early. I got burned out when I was younger too. We started around the week that the fair started. Our kids don't get a summer break anymore. Let them have more than a month and a half. It will help them be ready to go to school.

Needs to start after Labor Day

When I went to school we didn't start until after Labor day. The reason I remember so well is because pools would stay open until after labor day and close when school started. It seems like school is out and then it starts right back up again.

Let the children enjoy their summer at its FULL length...teachers need that break too and making them do in service in the summer will bring down moral with both populations!
