August brings a lot of warm weather that the kids miss out on truly enjoying if they are back to school so soon.

Not only is it to early for families but also it cost the state fair a ton of money.

I also would like to see the school day start later. 7:40 am is far to early for middle and high school.

This is way to early to start a school year. Let the kids and the teachers enjoy their summer. This doesn't even allow parents to get vacations out the way.

This is way too early. This does not give us enough time as a family.

S.O.S. _ Save Our Summers!!! children's abilities to enjoy summer and the various unique opportunities it affords. Camp, swimming, traveling, and time at the museums are all valuable experiences our children can have if they are allowed a proper summer. Likewise, when school starts in the FALL, the students are more refreshed and ready to get back to work.
From a tax-payer standpoint, I also oppose a early August start date because the cost of air-conditioning these schools during the summer months is great.

This is way too early to return. The summer will be too short! When we were kids we didn't go back until September and we turned out OK!

Too early to start back at school. Have teachers complete PDS and other things that cause them to lose days throughout the year.

Every yr the summers get shorter. They need that time to have fun. So when school does start they will be motivated to do better.

I'm all for education, but kids need time to spend with their families and enjoy each other.
Way too early!
School shouldn't start until after labor day!!
