All other schools are able to do it. It shows diversity and creativity, graduation is a time for students to shine, plus it makes it easier for parents to spot their child

I believe we should be able to decorate our grad caps at our graduation because, we work so hard to get into where we are going and should be able to show that at our graduation where all family and friends gather.

I brought my decorated cap to college with me and hung it on my wall. My friends are always telling me how awesome it was that my high school let us do that and that they wish they could've done it as well. Graduation is a great experience and getting to represent the college you're planning on attending by decorating your cap just makes it that much better!

Decorating the caps is a fun way to show your pride for how your achievement in high school has prepared you to go on to the next exciting phase of life!

The students have earned the right to wear the cap and gown. Time for administration to relax and let them decorate the caps. There is nothing wrong with letting them put a little personal touch on their cap & if it is not done in an acceptable manner it can be removed before the ceremony.

I could write an analytical essay on how the "classlessness" argument that is presented is completely defunct and takes away from our human right to self-expression especially at a festivity as unique as high school graduation.

JBHS is a wonderful school, but has too many restrictions. Let the seniors decorate their caps. They worked hard in school to get to graduation. Let them show spirit-whether it is for JBHS, their future college or someone special in their lives.
Just because that is that way it's always been, doesn't mean you can't change the rule. Change is good!

I don't think this would classless nor hazardous. I would like to decorate my cap with my mom's picture and my future college's logo. I see nothing wrong with this. Seniors of this year and every year to follow should be able to show their self, community, school, and or moral pride through the decoration of their graduation caps. It is our lansr chance to be Falcons, and show what being a Falcon has caused us to achieve. That is the purpose of the tradition that we'd like to start, not to cause any harm.

From what I have heard, the reason that JBHS seniors have not been able to decorate our caps is due to its "classlessness". I however, along with many of my fellow classmates, wholeheartedly disagree with that statement as it is completely unfair and untrue. Decorating our graduation caps allows us to express our pride and joy of our plans for the future which, to me, is far from classless and the decision to disallow us seniors the privilege of decorating our caps is truly ridiculous. This is not only because of the restriction it places on our creative freedom, but because the other high schools in our district are allowed to decorate their caps. Ultimately, this restriction needs to be revoked and us seniors ought to be able to take pride in our accomplishments and our future by partaking in what some would consider to be an American tradition.
