James Brown for next Head Football Coach at St. Johns High
This petition, is to notify all individuals involved in the hiring process for Head Football Coach at St. Johns High School, of the community support and endorsement for the hiring of James "Jimmy" Brown.
Jimmy was a three-sport athlete at St. Andrews High School, who later went on to play football at The Citadel Military College. He has been a life time member of the Johns Island community. Jimmy grew up in the St. Stephens A.M.E church on Johns Island and currently serves as a lay member in the same church. Jimmy knows the people, the layout and the culture of Johns Island.
His coaching career speaks for itself. As the Head Football Coach at North Charleston High School, Jimmy’s team made the playoffs, each of the five (5) years he coached there. As a Head Coach, Jimmy was named coach of the year in 2009. He also coached in 2 Lower State Championship games. Seven (7) out of the eight (8) years that he was the Assistant Head Coach, his team made the playoffs. More recently, as the Assistant Head Coach at First Baptist High School, Jimmy has coached in three (3) State Championship games, winning two (2).
Jimmy’s triumphs off the field, may outshine all of his on-field accomplishments. As a Head Coach, he has been instrumental in helping twenty-five (25) kids enter college on athletic scholarships (football/basketball). Jimmy has coached two (2) valedictorians and two (2) salutatorians. He has also coached three (3) students that went on to play in the National Football League (NFL).
Signing this petition, is approval of James "Jimmy" Brown, as the new Head Football Coach at St. John's High School.
