NO child should be "written off" at 15, no matter what s/he has done - they do NOT have the same culpability as adults!

Is this justice or just cruelty?

The justice system is cruel and unfair. Jacqueline Montanez sentence needs to be reviewed in front of a jury.

I am the step mother of the daughter of one of the shooting victims. I am familiar with this case and I was raised in humboldt park and knew both of the shooting victims. I also know that we live in a corrupt city and we fear the police more than we fear the gangs here. life without parole when a child was 15 during the crime is unconstitutional. I also have friends who have been tortured and forced to make confessions by these crooked cops. I believe they did not let her mom in when they interrogated her. i believe she was raped by her disgusting step father for it is a common thing in this neighborhood and was not dealt with back then, only swept under the rug. I believe this woman changed and should be given a chance to live a normal life that was never given to her as a kid. She was not born evil, evil was only shown to her so how much time you think will go by before she needs to act out? I am supporting you Jacqueline and pray that your sentence will change. Our purpose on this earth is to help others, she needs our help.

Imagine you are told your whole life that you are no good, you are abused by the people who are supposed to take care of you, keep you safe and love you. A child know what is right and what is not. If no one stands up for them, defends them, shows them love, they seek it somewhere else. Jacqueline wanted justice, wanted to show everyone how much she was hurting, but no one told her how to do it right, so she chose the wrong path. We all make wrong choices. We all need a second chance. This girl was stolen of her childhood, lets not steel her future.

If a sixteen year old under the influence gets in his car, hits, and kills four people and gets no jail time because he's too rich to know any better, how can a child raised in such awful circumstances be not be held to that same standard? There is a reason we have a juvenile justice system, kids will be kids. We can't treat every kid like an adult.

I believe time brings about change....Things done at youth should be pentalize....But......how much time does one have to serve for a crime done merely do to peer pressure.......some adult influence was used to convince this women to commit this act....Think of how society is now......it isn't hard to influence a youth whenshe just wants to be apart of something......Free Jackie She Deserves It.....
