Clemency for Jacqueline Montanez

24 years is enough. Let her go.

That's what's wrong with this world they wanna judge a person from there past and not give her the chance to judge her now as a women.

This is for Barbara, as well as for James Cruz Sister/Family: I think it is time to let go of whatever anger you both have inside. It does neither of you, nor your families justice of any kind. Jacqueline Montanez has paid a hefty price for the crime that she committed. Justice goes both ways. Both families (hers, as well as the two victims') have been violated because there was definitely a "miscarriage of justice." Her crime, as heinous as it was, was given a sentence that was unjustifiable, as well as inequitable on so many levels due to the totality of the circumstances. Her civil rights were egregiously violated. I think all parties involved have suffered enough. It is definitely time to "let go," so everyone can be given an opportunity to heal. God help you!

I just signed the petition, and I truly hope it is successful. I have seen videos footage, as well as read about her case in the past. I will be praying for it, as well as for Jackie, and your family. I have lived in Florida for almost nine years. I was born, as well as raised in Chicago. I have many family members, as well as friends who have fallen victim to the "trap" of the streets, as well as to the violence that we know all too well growing-up in Chicago. I do not believe I can count them with my fingers, nor toes anymore My dad is good now, but he was a hardcore gang-banger. My mother passed away from a drug overdose when I was 14 years old, so like you, I was inspired, too. I have my Associate of Science in Crime Scene Technology from a private university in Orlando, Florida, and I am almost done completing my Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Administration from a private college based in Missouri that has a campus in Orlando. Keep up the "good fight." I am sure that with enough force behind it, it will be won.

I believe everyone deserves a second chance. She was 15 years old when she committed her crime. She was a child, as well as unable to fully comprehend the ramifications of her actions, which were driven by her home life, as well as her experiences as a child. Yes, she committed the worst crime that could be committed, but I am a firm believer that people can change. The government also committed an "injustice" against her. Her confession was coerced, and she confessed while under duress. She had no parent/legal guardian, nor counsel present when she confessed. The Criminal Justice system failed her, as it has failed the families of many (victims and perpetrators alike). Her civil rights as a citizen of the United States were violated. Her case should have never been allowed to proceed based on these circumstances.

ANSWER ME THIS PEOPLE: IF SHE HAD KILLED SOMEONE YOU LOVED......YOU WOULD YOU PARDON HER?!?! WOULD YOU VE SAYING THE THINGS YIUR SAYING ABOUT HER?!?! WOULD YOU BE SEEKING CLEMENCY FOR HER?!?!

Life without parole for children is cruel and against basic human rights. Everyone deserves a second chance, and especially Jacqueline who has spent more than half of her life in prison and has shown tremendous growth, responsibility and remorse.

I am of Puerto Rican descent and this angry me has a political science major and an American to why this unjust is going on in our criminal justice system.
