Jacobs Highway Petition in memory of those lost on 285!

Death highway needs to be made larger and people need to slow down and pay more attention.

I am for the four lane highway. It saddens me to know so many have died. Something needs to be done!!!!

This highway has gotten so dangerous that it is a hazard to everyone's life

As a retired Law Enforcement Officer who has worked this very same Highway for 16 years in that Capacity our Department of Transportation and NMDOT need to make this a priority. As a trained professional from both of the listed agencies and understanding traffic studies this Highway is not designed or can fascilitate this much traffic

This highway definitely needs to be 4 lanes. One of the most dangerous roads we have. Multiple fatalities in the past couple weeks. Save lives and do what’s right.

Too many lives have been taken on that highway !!!!! The road has too much traffic coming in and out please change it !!! Don't let another tragic happen. Prayers for the family :(

This is a very dangerous stretch of road as it’s my daily commute to work every day has you on the edge we really need to make 4 lane or every so often with passing lanes PLEASE sad that so many lives have been lost while the state and sheriffs are in town writing tickets not in other areas

While making this a 4 lane highway will be expensive and time consuming it is well worth it. Even if it just saves 1 life.

Turning lanes would also help!

There have been far too many deaths on this stretch of highway since it was built. It is time to make it a 4 lane.

I've used 285 for about 15 years now and I've lost a lot of friends and family on this highway. God willing I've never been in a wreck on this stretch of road. I've seen the changes and the money spent to help fix the highway, buts it's to no avail. I feel if the highway was a 4 lane it would be 80% safer because then traffic would be able to move off on to the many side roads easier so that other traffic can freely pass.

Something has to be done. We've lost to many on this stupid hwy. How many more lives do we have to loose before they fix this hwy.

more patrol needs to be in place to enforce safe driving untill the roads can begin construction. I am aat a loss for words I knew Jacob watched him grow up he was my brother's best friend over ten years and it's such a tragedy Jacob has a baby on the way .. and my heart goes out to his family and most importantly his unborn baby and girlfriend randa also to all his friends who knew and laughed with him ... we all are left with void and awareness of his death on that road needs to be put in place. R.i.p Jacob balderama gone to soon god needed you for a greater purpose... long live his memory and drove a little more cautiously please ... or else you could be in the same position
