I was on this road few weeks back and it was horrible. There was blown out tires all over roads and sides of roads, pot holes and trash and rocks bigger than brick in road way. Saw blow out on semi, a roller over and I prayed the whole way there and back. Will not travel that road again...but there are so many have to travel that road to work. Their lives matter !!!

I agree. Co-worker was hit head on by another truck. Lucky he lived to talk about it

I had to drive 285 almost daily, it is the most dangerous road in New Mexico. Something has to be done, use some of the money generated from the oilfield to fix the roads.

I drive 285 all day long in a simi and i try to drive 58 mph to not hold up traffic so much but also not to speed and the trucks and cars that pass me like im sitting in park is outrageous. I cant stop on a dime or turn on one. And traffic just pulls out in front of us also and we cant got anywhere do to 2 lanes only

Really hope and pray they will make the four lanes my son in law works out there and we really worry for him and every other person that works that way there has been too many accidents its time to do something please...prayers for all the families that have been in accidents and have lost one of thier loved ones that work that way.. really hope and pray something will be done before we lose more people that travel each day to work on that dangerous road.
