As a parent of a former ACC field hockey player, the conference tournament was one of the highlights of the season. No matter where you placed in the league, the conference tournament gave you another chance to finish among the elite.

I would love to see an Ivy Lrague tournament for field hockey. It would be a great start to supporting the sport and for the reconciliation the sport and players deserve

Women's and Men's Basketball and Women's and Men's Lacrosse have Ivy League Championship Tournaments. There are also other sports whose seasons end in a culminating event with league teams to determine the champion. Baseball, Women's and Men's Soccer, and Women's Volleyball have also put in legislation for the 2018 cycle for a tournament. Many of the sports noted, as well as field hockey, have written proposals periodically over the last two decades. To my knowledge, most of these proposals have been put forward in order to provide the same equity in those sports in the Ivy League that virtually every other league/conference has around the country - provide a post-season league/conference tournament for student-athletes, as well as determine the NCAA automatic bid into the tournament.

It's amazing that in a time when colleges and universities give so much 'lip service' to the student-athlete experience, the Ivy Presidents deny what has become a fundamental opportunity in NCAA athletics, the possibility to play for a Championship at the end of their season.
Hopefully this will end.

Ivy league deserves to have a tournament. Thank you Coach Kyle, I wasn't aware of this. Those players need this, and being a parent of a student athletes we deserve to cheer them on in this exciting experience.

There is a conference tournament for Ivy League basketball. There should be one for field hockey for all the reason so eloquently stated in the letter accompanying this petition.

It's about time the Ivy League has its own end of season conference tournament! They have expressed their desire for this opportunity over the past 2 decades!
