Italian room as Year 12 Common

I feel that it is important for a common room to be provided for the year 12 girls to use during their break times. This would provide them with the opportunity to come together, in a relaxed environment, to take time out from the stresses of the school day as a year 12 student. It would promote collaboration & support for each other & give them a school privilege that is unique to their senior year. The Italian Room seems to be a suitable space as it has a kitchenette where the girls can prepare beverages & snacks for themselves. If this space is available during recess & lunch without disruption to classes either side of breaks, I'd hope that you would consider their request, Thankyou

Allowing the Year 12 students to gain access to the Italian Room during Recess and Lunch would not only provide more freedom for the girls, but also teach them responsibility in regards to respecting this area without the presence and interference of staff.

Fairs fair. If years 8-10 get a room why not the year 12s since it's their last year why not bond together at recess and lunch

Support your students in any way you can. They are trying to communicate what their needs are. Please listen.

An separate space for year 12 will facilitate their learning it makes no sense not to provide this. There is no risk here, this is an initiative long overdue. For a school which prides itself on nurturing its students this is a major fail.

I don't go to Kildare but having a year 12 common room saved me because it's really nice having somewhere all the year 12s can come together and hang out during the breaks :)

I think its ridiculous that students are expected to have to beg for the oppitunity to sit inside during winter...why make them ait in the cold when there is empty classrooms?

Year 12 is a tough year and this would be perfect for use as a quiet place to study. Sometimes the library isn't a good learning or studying environment as it can be noisy or distracting.

I had one at my old school, great place to go to learn

It sure would make sense to me. Year 12s are under enormous pressure and really should have an area for themselves.
