When you walk on a pavement, you always equate that with safety because it is for pedestrians. But today, you get these E-scooters zooming by and I was almost hit by one near my office. They do not slow down and some even got angry that you are "blocking" their way. They are a safety hazard and a nuisance.

Always feel threatened when walking on pavements because of errant e scooterists and sometimes cyclists as well. E scooters should be banned as it doesn't help a person in exercises like Cycling, instead it has caused so many loss of life and injuries and irreversible immobility/brain damage to innocent people. So many lives of families are destroyed by e scooters usage.. please ban it immediately !

Huge huge issue for even pedestrians. These e scooter riders drive at full speed and make it very accident prone in footpaths for ordinary pedestrians. Pls ban this right away.

Did anyone see a new blue branded scooter company parking messily at public spaces such as the promontory with make shift ‘yellow boxes’?
I thought there was a law against parking of scooters in public areas? How can they be allowed to blatantly do this?? The bicycle nuisance hasn't even been taken care of and now they allow scooters to do the same:(

The pavements are supposed to be safe for pedestrians, young & old, to walk on. It's hard to control who purchases and rides these E-Scooters, and hence hard to control their behaviour. More often than not, their behaviour errs to a more reckless end. Given the speed of the scooters, they appear out from bends with no warning at all and even an alert young person might not be able to dodge on time let alone an elderly or a child or even someone who just happened to be less alert at the moment since the pavements are supposed to be a safe place.
Not sure how much this industry/market brings to the economy but safety of the people should always be a priority.
Not at peace knowing that my parents could just get injured from walking along a pavement.

I've read so many cases of accidents caused by the e-scooters/PMDs, and recently 2 death cases. My wife, my son and some colleagues and friends have also shared some of the frightening experiences they encountered with these e-devices and luckily no injuries were reported. I support such ban for the sake of safety for my family, friends and colleagues and also the public.

The fact that common folks using the footpaths now use them with constant fear of being hit should be sufficient for the policy makers to put an immediate stop to this grave mistake.
