This is the best place for Navy families to live and raise their children. We love our Navy and Marine families.

NASWI supports approximately 7,000 military personnel with an additional 14,000 family members, over 14,000 retirees, 350+ reservists, and 2,400 civilian employees. As well, they also support over 50 Canadian Forces and their families. This was information from September 2016. Additional Commands and their families have been added to the forces. It is also the largest employer on the Island. I agree with Mr. Bentsen, the irreplaceable economic benefit to each and every resident and business on the island is just that, irreplaceable! As a former military spouse of 23 years, it is an honor to be a part of such a fine community that is protected and serviced by our military.

I am proud to support our Navy here on Whidbey Island! Their training here is of utmost importance, as they risk their lives to protect our freedom and safety.

When the price of the Sound of Freedom is calculated...There can not be a total to put into a monatary amount. The price of personnel and equipment and presence of them can not be stopped. NAS Whidbey has been and will always be invaluable and hard to relocate.

The Naval Air Station in Whidbey Island employs thousands of DoD personnel whose income plays a vital role in the health of the community's economy. Naval personnel, local businesses and residents of Island, Skagit, Whatcom, and surrounding counties live in symbiosis. The outlying field Coupeville provides a vital resource to our aircrew's readiness to deploy and carry out the orders of the Commander in Chief, and should not be done away with or closed. Continue to show your support for not only Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, but also the surrounding communities!

If you don't like living next to a Naval Air Station, don't. Its pretty simple. Its not like the base was being hidden from anybody.

Without NAS Whidbey, the quality and breadth of services in Oak Harbor would be depressed. NAS Whidbey brings irreplaceable economic benefit to each and every resident and business on the island ($1.2 BILLION per year!). It's an honor to have this base on the island, and I wholeheartedly support them.
