NAS Whidbey Island is critical to the needs of the US Military in the Pacific. So, any talk of closing it is "absurd".

As a wife, daughter and grand daughter of three proud navy men, all who retired from NAS Whidbey Island, I am a proud supporter of the base. This base has been the lead employer for Island County for decades, both military and civilian. The base has supported our community and the community will continue to support the base.

I feel that it is vital to the Navy and the service people to train and maintain readiness at all times. NAS Whidbey is key to that.

The Navy was here long before the Coupeville elite and hopefully will be here long after they are gone.

As retired Air Force and a resident located near OLF, I support NAS Whidbey Island, OLF and especially the heroes who continue to serve. I have lived under flight patterns all my life. There is nothing more exhilarating then being at the end of a runway when a B-52 or an SR-71 takes off. We should be proud to have these brave men and women as our friends and neighbors!

As a Veteran, I can fully appreciate the tremendous financial impact NAS Whidbey has on the community. What is more important is the base provides VAQ and VP squadrons optimum, un-crowded airspace that cannot be found at any other location on the West coast. This base and community supports National Assets which provides for our National Security worldwide in a very unique way. Keep our Growlers, P-3's, EP-3's and P-8's here in the Pacific Northwest on Whidbey Island!
I love Jet Noise!
