I have been associated with NAS Whidbey Island and the navy as a family member and most recently as a 20 year DOD employee since 1970. The community wants and supports the growth of this base, not only for national security but for the island economy.

The Navy brought my dad here when I was a young child. I'm so grateful to call Oak Harbor my home. I fully support the Navy staying here and being able to practice readiness and training to keep our nation and it's interests abroad safe. I love the diversity of our population to which the Naval base contributes and the sense of shared wonder of our remarkable surroundings. YES! To keeping NAS Whidbey here. Thank you, Mayor for taking this petition to the other Washington!!

I believe that the NAS Whidbey Island is an important station. I feel it will be a very big mistake to take out the NAS on Whibey Island. It is a need that is important to the safety and freedom of the USA>
