I grew up on the Island it was my home for a VERY long time!!! I agree if they close the base then the economy would take a real HARD hit and I don't think that would be fair!!! I grew up listening to the jets fly over head and I LOVE THE SOUND OF FREEDOM!!!!

NAS Whidbey Island is a mainstay contributor to the safety and security of the United States. The City of Oak Harbor stands behind and supports our Naval personnel attached to the squadrons and departments attached to NAS Whidbey Island.

I am in support of Ault Field Naval Station & the Out Lying Field as a important and necessary part of the protection of our county. It is one of the top military installation in the country and has had a great relations with the public.

I would strongly recommend an investigation of the COER representatives locations in which they now live.
Mr Pritchard (sp) now lives on Lasquetti Is in British Columbia in the summer and on his sail boat. He resides in San Diego area during the winter. He must have very outstanding hearing to hear the jet noise in BC and San Diego.
This claim is without merit.
