We need this!!!!!! No other place is like Whidbey. Maintain and keep the operation on Whidbey. It should not even be in question.

I was here from 1970 - 1974 and continuously since 1986. I have watched these efforts co get rid of OLF, NASWI and/or both replay over and over. Same reason - I bought cheap and think if I can get rid of the pesky Navy I can sell high or get the Navy to buy me out at a profit. They all move on and eventually, these will also. This is all hindering our National defense and is a waste of our tax money in fighting them.

NASWI important to national defense and crucial to the economy of Oak Harbor and Whidbey Island. The definition of ghost town is Oak Harbor without NASWI.

My family and I arrived in Oak Harbor in January of 1976 and the A-6's & EA-6B's were using the OLF constantly. If I'm not mistaking, people that purchased a home near the OLF signed documents acknowledging the fact that there would be noise associated with flight operations. What did you expect when you purchase a home near an airport? We currently reside on a golf course and of course we expect our house to be hit by an errant golf ball, but we knew the risks when we built the house. By the way, I Haven't bought a golf ball in 20 years! One of the benefits I guess. Quit complaining!

I am 4th generation Navy.

I was stationed at NASWI with my Navy officer husband and later retired here with my retired Army husband. I very much support NASWI. The facilities are much appreciated, and the noise has not been an issue for me and my family. It's the sound of freedom!

Thank you for this opportunity to show my support for NAS Whidbey and all that they do, anywhere on this island. We are often near the base and hear the growlers overhead. It is no worse than living near a large city with commercial air traffic and sirens day and night, but it's only for rare periods in a day. We should be grateful for their presence, which adds a lot to our island economy. We should be proud to have such a fine, award-winning military base on our island. Thank you, all at NAS Whidbey, for your service to our country.

Remote location provides uncontested airspace for efficient aircrew training

We are so fortunate to have the Navy's Electronic Attack Wing single-sited here at NAS Whidbey! We are also glad to have all the Navy's West Coast Patrol and Reconnaissance squadrons based here! There is not a more desirable location in the U.S. from both the Navy's and our community's standpoints, taking into account the community's unparalleled support of the Navy, the outstanding flying weather and the paucity of restricted airspace. The Navy has bent over backwards to minimize any inconveniences to the residents while conducting its essential training.

I fully support the Navy's mission at NAS Whidbey Island, Washington. As American citizens, we cannot adopt the philosophy of "Not in my backyard." Our young men and women in the armed forces deserve the best training possible. Fly Navy!
