On Thursday, January 7, 2016, it was announced that the Consulate General of Israel to the Mid-Atlantic (which includes Philadelphia) would be closing. The Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia has worked very closely with the consulate on critical issues related to Israel and the Jewish community for many years.This closure leaves a hole we will not easily fill.

This is ridiculous. Philly needs this consulate. So much history between our communities.
A huge mistake by the government. This office does important work every single day.
Sad news. The consulate has always been a great partner here in the city.
