We the undersigned request that Premier Robert Ghiz stop the impending HST implementation scheduled for April 1, 2013 and continue with the current system of taxation for the following reasons; the new harmonized sales tax will cause unfair hardship on low and middle income citizens, including people living on a fixed income and families. The HST will increase the cost of some goods and services that are essential. Some of these services that will be affected are as follows: Gasoline, Electricity, Gym and Athletic memberships, Children’s sports, and sport related ice and field rentals. Other goods that are also affected are clothing (except small children), haircuts, dry cleaning etc.
