To: The Legislative Assembly of Prince Edward Island 1st Floor, Province House 165 Richmond Street PO Box 2000 Charlottetown PE C1A 7N8 We the undersigned request that Premier Robert Ghiz stop the impending HST implementation scheduled for April 1, 2013 and continue with the current system of taxation for the following reasons; the new harmonized sales tax will cause unfair hardship on low and middle income citizens, including people living on a fixed income and families. The HST will increase the cost of some goods and services that are essential. Some of these services that will be affected are as follows: Gasoline, Electricity, Gym and Athletic memberships, Children’s sports, and sport related ice and field rentals.
