We are so fortunate to call the Champlain Islands our home and now after all these years Island Arts has found a home. It is imperative for them to be able to offer events to raise money to keep their new home flourishing. These events keep our community alive offering opportunities to those of us who live here and the many people who visit and support "our Islands." I support Island Arts efforts and all they do for all of us to enjoy our life here.

It is imperative that the Arts board of directors be allowed to set the number and size of their events. We are talking about a community coming together to celebrate what the Arts have to offer and this can only be done through the direction of the "Arts Board of Directors". Let's unite, move forward and flourish with The Island Arts community!

Strongly support such a well known arts offering. Why would you limit the hours of operation and scope of fundraising. You can't stop providing funding and then tie the arts hands to try and support themselves.

I am artist who has taught for Island Arts. There are many activities that need to happen in the evening to make this a viable enterprise like musical performances & even classes for art. Please reconsider the hour restrictions. To make the barn project financially viable, Island Arts needs the possibility of scheduling evening events.

No one who lives near, and there aren't many, has expressed any concern about the hours. If we wanted to have an evening concert, we couldn't. This would make the facility pretty much worthless as an arts site.

I really think the barn space will help develop community of like minded people in the remote area of North Hero, and late work hours are important. Thanks

Arts activities are often in the evenings to draw those who work. I would love to attend evening exhibitions and performances. This is an important organization that should be able to serve the entire community.

Island Arts has been a Godsend for many many children from the islands. My name is Liza Mercy and I am the Owner of Dance in the Isle and without the love, support and generous scholarships that island arts has provided to so many of my students over the past 8 years many kids would not have been able to take dance classes. Dance classes have been a safe haven for many kids and a great outlet of expression, friendship and community. I thank Island Arts with my whole heart as I know the families of these kids are beyond thankful for providing such a selfless, and caring way of providing safe and enriching programs for growing minds and bodies. I pray that you will reconsider on the curfew, as the pros of these great events/benefits on long summer days will most definitely outweigh the cons. Thank you.

Certainly the DRB needs to take another look at this ruling, with more community feedback. In the summer, many events end around 10 pm at Knight's Point, just down the road from the Island Arts barn. Why the discrepancy? Thank you for taking another look at this decision.

As a former art teacher in three of the island school I can speak first hand for the commitment of Island Arts for yearly funding for the art and music programs. This funding provided guest musicians and artists, equipment and books to enhance the arts in our schools. It has provided us with funding for field trips to The Flynn, museum trips and theater and dance experiences for the school community. We were very blessed to have these gifts in our island community schools. I urge you to allow them to continue this mission that has enriched our students and provided yearly funding to our music and arts programming.
