Irish dog pounds stop putting dog down after 5 days start re-homing them

Please stop PTS after 5days, scan and Facebook to help find owner as

please rehome do not kill.

I'm totally against putting a healthy animal to sleep and I hope the law changes to save the innocent lives of these animals.

Please give them more of a chance. They dont deserve this !!!

We need to take responsibility for overbreeding not murder the result, also why does an Irish petition not allow me to use my Irish surname?

It should be mandatory to scan for chips in pound. It is disgrace that chipping it now mandatory yet our pounds can scan for chips at their own discretion. I chipped my dog from a young age even before chipping was mandatory because it is the right thing to do and yet our pounds are not obliged to check for chips. How can the government get behind the chipping initiative and expect the nation to follow suit if checking for chips is not mandatory in pounds - it is a"do as I say not as I do" approach! Chipping needs be taken seriously at all levels if dog owners are to take it seriously aswell.

This is a barbaric praticise.Instead of pts why not nueter chip rehome to people here and aboard like other rescues do.The fact that pounds do not nueter adds to the problem they do not apply the rules rescues do to homing all they want is to reduce there kill rate by just chipping and licence fee and giving dogs to anyone who pays these fees.Change there pratice guidelines run like rescues adopt a no kill policy up the cost of rhoming nueter all
