Six Iranian Nationals have taken asylum in the UK. They are members of Green Wave Voice, an organisation protesting against the results of the Iranian presidential election.
The six men are have recently had their asylum applications refused and been instructed to leave the UK immediately. Despite overwhelming evidence that they would be almost certain to be imprisoned, and even executed, if forced to return to Iran.
They have been on hunger strike since 7th April 2011. They have not received support from any organisations.
They came to the UK looking for safety, having been tortured in Iran. Please sign this petition urging the Home Office and Theresa May to give them asylum.
I have spent this week drafting formal letters to the Home Office detailing the risks these men face upon return. My efforts are now focused on securing a meeting with caseworkers to present the documentation regarding their previous experiences with torture. We are waiting for a response to these requests and will provide further details on the status of these communications soon.

The volume of support has reached a level that allows us to formally request a meeting with the Home Office regarding these asylum cases. I am currently drafting a letter to Theresa May that outlines the immediate risks the Green Wave Voice members face if returned to Iran.

The home office needs to wake up and look at the facts. They deserve a chance at life.

Sent them back is basically a death sentence. The government should be ashamed of themselves.

Just let them stay. Nobody deserves to live in fear of execution.

How can we claim to be a civilised country when we send people back to be tortured. Not in my name.
