Even if medieval Christianity acknowledged the importance of non-European people (the virgin Mary) and places (the holy land), it matters that its thinkers and ideas are today being taken up in the service of white supremacy and absolutism. Long live diversity of society, culture, and thought!

Dorothy Kim's work has been fantastic both in and of itself, but also for helping people see how inclusive medieval history can be. Dr Kim is an essential, valuable part of the medieval studies community. Rachel Fulton Brown is an embarrassment to scholarship and we need to repudiate her.
