I strongly believe that there should be an African American Emoji. There are caucasian people emojis, Indian people emojis, emojis for the gay, straight and families. There is even an alien emoji, a plethora of the animals known to man and so many more. African Americans are consumers of Apple Products just as much as any other race or ethnicity. Even before I owned an iPhone I was aware of this issue. I am unsure why it has not been addressed but I don't want to wait any longer for someone to take the initiative.
