As governor you are obligated to do all that you can do to protect the citizens of Virginia from the potential environmental devastation of this pipeline.

This pipeline is ill-conceived and a potential, irretractable disaster. Please do everything you can to stop this from continuing!

I grew up in Nelson and returned after I retired. My father and grandfather were county officials. The idea of a 42" high-pressure pipeline transversing my beautiful, beloved county is absolutely abhorrent to me, especially since it commits Virginia to fossil fuels at a time when we should be focusing on sources of renewable energy. This pipeline will only hurt the citizens of Nelson. The construction process alone will be devastating to our economy, roads and way of life.

Dear Governor McAuliffe. Please accept my invitation to visit Nelson County, Virginia. The ACP proposed project threatens one of the most essential and precious elements for life . . . WATER. Without water we all perish. I emplore you to do take action to insure that water, essential for life, is forever protected in the Commonwealth of Virginia for all of her citizens and visitors remembering that our founding fathers created documents guaranteeing "Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" . . . a well-known phrase in the United States Declaration of Independence. The phrase gives three examples of the "unalienable rights" which the Declaration says has been given to all human beings by their Creator, and for which GOVERNMENTS ARE CREATED TO PROTECT. Nelson County has so much promise as a growing tourist destination with Wintergreen at its core. It also has so much beauty and serenity. Please pay us a visit so you can see first hand what is at stake if you don't work with Dominion to find a route that shares existing infrastructure and rights of way rather than destroying Virginia's unspoiled beauty.

Please visit Nelson to see yourself the damage that Dominion will do to this beautiful rural county.

Governor - I voted for you, I contributed financially to your campaign, and I am the Nellysford Precinct Chair for the Nelson Democratic Party. I wish I could be spending my money supporting Democratic candidates in the upcoming election. But I have spent thousands of dollars instead fighting Dominion to get them to move their pipeline off the entrance to Wintergreen and out of my small neighborhood. I support the pipeline, and I support strengthening Virginia's economy. But the pipeline will have serious economic consequences for Wintergreen and planned resorts and other businesses in Nelson County. Please come here so we can discuss this face to face. We want a win-win for you and Nelson County. Without your support, we will face serious long-term loses on both sides.

Be sure to come on a Saturday, so you can witness first-hand, the drove of tourists that visit our wineries, breweries and cideries, in buses, limos and private cars. What do you think the construction mess will do to this? Decline in tourist traffic=unemployment for US. Dominion has already said they are not responsible if construction damages the water table and causes springs and wells to go dry for home and business owners. How about Bold Rock Cider, directly in the path of the pipeline? Or the property directly across from them, which was slated to be developed as a 5-star resort, providing much-needed full and part time jobs and bring in more tax revenue than the pipeline ever would? Or Horizons EcoVillage, bisected and destroyed by this travesty? Stop spouting Dominion's false rhetoric. It won't create permanent jobs here, we won't be able to access the gas because of population density requirements, and it will only wreak environmental havoc and drive people away. And then there's the fact that pipelines actually DO have safety issues, and more frequently than Dominion would have us believe. I dare you to visit us on a lovely fall Saturday, and see if you really think the ACP is a good idea. We all realize they contributed heavily to your campaign. Don't sell us out.

As a property owner at Wintergreen, I stand to lose thousands of dollars. The pipeline is proposed to go in front of my house on Fortune's Ridge. I have been planning to live at a retirement home with the money from the sale of that house. It's been on the market for almost a year. No one will buy it because of the pipeline..

This pipeline spells disaster for Virginia - not only the homeowners but neighbors and taxpayers. Who will replace our water should our wells and aquifers become ruined during construction. Who pays for the decrease in property values, Already buyers are walking away from properties on or near the pipeline route. If the blast zone is 3 miles why is the pipeline going so close to homes?

Please come visit our land. I think you will agree that this pipeline would be better suited on existing right of ways.

NO PIPELINE - MOTHER EARTH IS MORE IMPORTANT TO SALVAGE THAN JOBS. I like clean air and water and would like to continue to use it. Let the citizens that you represent ask you why you continue to support it even though you know the risk.

Dear Governor: Over the last year, in each letter and petition I sent to your office, I repeated an invitation to come visit Nelson county and see the proposed path of the pipeline for yourself. Please take the time to visit the sensitive wild areas and small landowner and business properties that would be affected before you decide this pipeline would be a boon to us. Come see it with your own eyes.
