Invite the Governor to Nelson County!

Speak with landowners impacted by the route, not with politations

This is also an opportune time to remind Dominion that real clean energy means solar and other renewables.

I am a resident whose property is within 1,000 feet of the proposed ACP. I would welcome an opportunity to show you what I and all the people who call Nelson home and the tourist who visit stand to lose if this project is allowed. Please let the Nelson County residents share with you the treasures we have and answer our questions and concerns before it is too late. Listening to and serving all the people in the Commenwealth is what you were elected to do.

We've been very disappointed by Govenor McAuliffe to date. It seems pretty clear that he's never seen this part of the Commonwealth.

I am a Native Texan and I have seen what these pipelines do. I have lived in Virginia for over 25 years and have had a home at Wintergreen for over 20. I do not want to see what happened in Texas happen at Wintergreen! I have on my car: Native Texan, No Pipeline! I bet the governor has a job with Dominion waiting when he leaves office. The rationale, for putting a 726 KV powerline through the Jefferson National forest was so they could ship electricity from Detroit, to the Carolinas, for electrical grid interconnectivity. Why aren't they just shipping electricity, rather than Gas. This entire idea is BS. And yes, my house is solar powered. This is a totally unnecessary pipeline. If they eminent domain this through private property, then what is the point of private ownership. The founding fathers of this Commonwealth would be raising arms in protest, had the these pipelines been proposed in their day. Let Dominion put the ACP on their own land or buy out every owner impacted, including a 5 mile corridor, for safety, at full market value. Without free land, I doubt that they would build such an ecological disaster. You couldn't pay me enough to destroy my land that I've worked so hard to acquire, to bolster the revenue of some stockholders elsewhere. I am totally opposed to this project.

Governor McAuliffe: You recently stated 'Nelson County needs help. They need economic development." Visit and see, we do need help... to keep the ACP from negatively impacting our developing agri-tourism economy.

Please come and see what we have to lose in this unfair fight against a powerful, deceptive opponent. We voted for you, don't turn your back to us!

Dear Governor, I voted for you. I really hope you will come visit and see our beautiful county before it is too late.

Be the brave governor who stands to protect the land of your constituents and their histories in that land

We need you to speak to us about this important topic now!

Please visit and explain why it is necessary to damage our way of life for a pipeline that may not be needed. Also, consider Nelson usually votes Democratic but maybe not next time. We deserve answers not sound bites.

As a Democrat who worked to help get you elected, I cannot explain how disappointed I am with your support of Dominion and the proposed ACP, I can also say that I'm extremely upset you feel it appropriate to belittle my community with false statements including that we have the smallest population in the Commonwealth and that we need the proposed pipeline because we need economic development here. Those statements clearly indicate you know nothing about this community and are willing to allow your need to "close the deal" to put thousands of landowners' and families' health, safety and welfare at risk in favor of profit for business. Locating a 42" pipeline, operating at 1440 psi, within a few hundred feet of existing homes, places us in the blast zone. Our homes and families could be incinerated. Do you not know new pipelines have a higher rate of failure than those built in the 1940s and earlier. It is fact! New pipelines are also much larger, operating at higher pressures and therefore create much more devastation, both environmental during their construction, and when they fail because the blast zones are so much larger. Rural and minority communities have been placed in the crosshairs far too frequently, as if our lives are someone less valued, less important than those of our urban and suburban neighbors. You are a smart man. You have children. You know that fossil fuels must stay in the ground, and that we as a people, move to renewable sources of energy to maintain a habitable planet for future generations. Yet, "closing the deal" seems more important to you than our children's future. If you would only look at the facts, I am sure you would recognize the truth. Please put our children first, not profit.

I live in Nelson County, Virginia, and expect all of our political representatives to listen to ordinary citizens, not corporations, when we shout out concerns that a giant pipeline is dangerous and bad for our economy!

ACP should go on existing gas / utility right of ways- It is environmentally irresponsible to consider Dominion's alternate route!

Please come visit us to see the pristine beauty of the Wherlers cove area that will be destroyed by the ACP. Meet the homeowners that will be at risk of damage to foundations, wells and pure drinking water. We make our homes and livings here. We want to meet you. Prove that you care about us.

Virginia does not need this Pipeline!
