Nearly 70 years ago, Aldo Leopold wrote, "We abuse land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.” Nelson County is a place where people have a real sense of community. Our community gets is strength from our fervent attachment to the land. Anyone who thinks that destroying the natural biotic community here must truly have an empty heart. Visit us and listen to not only the people, but to the land.

As a citizen, I urge you to do the right thing and raise serious questions about this destructive and unnecessary pipeline that will only tie us further to a doomed reliance on fossil fuels.
As a landowner whose home is directly affected, I invite you to visit beautiful Nelson County and learn about the devastating impact this proposed pipeline would have here.
As your constituent, I remind you that you are responsible to the people of Virginia, and not to protecting the profits of your largest contributors.

Come up here. You proclaim you are the groovy gov yet you know your statements are false as to jobs for Virginia and impact to areas of the Blue Ridge. Dominion is important as they provide much in our region yet this puppet act has gone far enough. Sure there is much about "not in my backyard" about any pipeline however this specific case is clearly about profit for your largest Virginia sponsor. Think about it. If we see you rise to further position ignoring the railroad baron approach here this will haunt you.

Jefferson wrote The Notes of The State of Virginua documenting our natural resources. Come to Nelson and visit what he and we cherish. Governor do you really want your legacy to destroy what is the core of Virginia. Come see and here

This is all wrong from the start of fracking in W.V. to the destruction and theft of private and public property all to pad Dominion's wallet and and take from the citizens of all three states involved. We the people don't need or want it!

please consider the consequences of the pipeline and its destruction of tourism in Nelson county!! It doesn't make sense that it could be possible to put the pipeline along 664 & 151. Please visit Nelson and see what's at stake.

Dominion may be the biggest political contributor in VA but we love our rural county, will not gain or improve our economy with a pipeline, and have a growing economy already. No pipeline!

We are mistaken if we believe that the construction and maintenance of this pipeline will in any way add to the scenic and natural beauty of Nelson County. There are already miles of utility rights of ways overgrown with invasive species that detract from the beauty of the land. In order to completely understand this concept, one cannot simply make sweeping statements from behind a desk or podium. We must experience the effects and spend time living with the land that will be affected by this pipeline. Furthermore, the notion that natural gas is environmentally-friendly is a fallacy. Instead of continuing to invest money into fossil fuels, which are finite, we should be growing our economy (like many nations around the world) based on seeking energy alternatives. Natural gas is merely a different form of business as usual. This mentality simple pushes off the problems that we are facing today on future generations. As parents and grandparents, it is our responsibility and duty to make sacrifices today for the generations that will come. Therefore, this is more than an environmental and economic issue. It is a moral imperative! It is time that we act not only in our own interest but for the welfare of the environment, our state, and future generations.

Nelson County and Augusta County rely heavily on tourism to bolster their economies. The ACP will have a huge negative impact on tourism. At this time both counties are growing and increasing their economies without the "help" of a destructive pipeline!
