Please help the children of Arizona, where it is often tough to be a kid. This is a good way to help improve their lives!

Let's support our youth BEFORE the trauma impacts their lives! We can work together to build a stronger community through investing in our children.

If possible, i will see if we can also add "evidence-based" strategies to line 16. This is about everyone and evidence based strategies maximize impact. Right Doug and Gail The Guts to Be Good is based is an initiative created by our community. Strategies are based on the following evidence based research. 1. Diffusion of Innovation 2. Peer Education and Mentoring 3. Positive Youth Development 4. Social Change 5. Developmental Assets 6.Community Development 7. Community Mobilization 8.Social Emotional learning Ill send links and more soon

I agree with this 100% and we will see if we can include. If not we do and will continue to actively address this issue as it is BEYOND past due. Having the "guts to speak up" regarding disability accommodations, as well as discriminatory behavior is needed as well. We need to include that the Members of the Legislature declare that children of all political, religious DISABILITY and other identities deserve to be safe and treated equally with respect.

Adverse childhood experiences that are traumatic also occur due to lack of understanding regarding disabilities. I am deaf/oral and was mainstreamed in school as a child, I had no understanding at that time of asking for accommodations, nor did my parents. This still happens! This negative view of disability/deafness resulted in me dropping out of school after 8th grade... Subsequently, because of stubborn resiliency, I found a way to get my GED and BS degree from ASU... and use the disability to further my career. Having the "guts to speak up" regarding disability accommodations, as well as discriminatory behavior is needed as well. We need to include that the Members of the Legislature declare that children of all political, religious DISABILITY and other identities deserve to be safe and treated equally with respect. Thank you.
