We all want our sector professionals for all important work done with young children.we r the first in line to recognising detecting development issues and recommendations for further assessments, we often do OT work, play therapy, language therapy and early maths and literacy building a strong foundation for long life learning and providing quality early education. We are professionals and have a greater understanding of special educational needs than the average junior infant primary school teacher which by the way they also use Aistear

Early childhood educators are simply undervalued for the valuable early education they give to our children. They are the teachers that lay the foundation of our children’s education

Changes need to be made in this sector, before we lose all of our qualified staff.

Time to sort out the child care system and support those who actually love this job and are good at it.

This Government should be ashamed of themselves, the amount of work & love the childcare workers give each day & the support for parents is unbelievable. They are treated so unfairly. Allowing a hike in cost so that crèches have to close leave the staff & parents who can’t afford the increased payments out of work hang your heads in shame Fine Gael

Please pay heed to this petition. Our children deserve better than being a Governmental afterthought. Please stop pursuing your policy of focusing on colglomerate creches and forcing excellent smaller childcare facilities out of business. From my knowledge of the sector, staff are exceptionally caring, highly qualified and yet hugely under paid and under appreciated by the government for their work and the huge contribution they make enriching our children's lives, providing exceptional care and allowing working parents to continue in the workplace.
