Introduce CCTV and/or railings in the dangerous areas of York such as Lendall Bridge and around Ouse River

This has needed to be done for years.

Also more security needed around the river. York is a student city and needs to look after its students.

something has to be done too many people are going missing or getting attacked..i go to middlesbrough every month and york has got a bad reputation for violence and drowning

I never knew Megan but it really has hit home with her story and the dangers of the river especially with friends who have taken that route home without knowing the dangers. Thoughts with her family and friends. Heaven has gained a new angel xx

ive got a petition in leeds after my brother died in the river aire I kniw hiw mych pain the roverts family are going through ive signed I hope the coyncil does something but 3 years on im still waiting the coyncil woyld rather byuld new propertys then thing of anybodys life gd luck

more cameras, and more security around the edge of the river, like railings.

This is a necessity in a city with a river where accidents are more likely to happen.

There should be more barriers also for when the water level is risen. good luck i hope that the tragic events cause a whole lot of awareness to what needs to be done! best wishes.

Would (hopefully) reduce the pain for those involved in terrible events such as those in recent weeks. It would allow families to try find closure if at that moment their world seems to be coming to an end.

i agree. have been saying for years that ther should also be high railings along the river in york, the stupid chain things near kings staithe are ridiclous.
