If you support the proposition that a percentage based dues system (like the ones used by the DGA, SAG, and USA 829) is worth researching in order to make an informed choice about whether a system could be created for our group, please add you name to this proposition. ALSO INCLUDE YOUR ZIP CODE (for verification purposes) and any other comments you would like to make.

As a member of 3 iatse locals -- The 829 (NY) system seems fair and logical, the 891 (Vancouver) system seems fair and logical, the 800 system seems much in need of scrutiny. Thanks for this investigation -- and any serious re-thinking on how 800 can accommodate the international realities of design work in a relentlessly international industry.

I am in agreement that a study is needed to create a more appropriate Dues Structure for our membership at this time. Since Hollywood has changed the way it does business, our Union also must adapt to stay vital in this global industry. I believe that the 450 Bank of Hours and the 400 needed for MPI Health Insurance should also be evaluated in this study at this time. (90048)

I support a discussion of dues rates tied to earnings with a cap. Percentage dues seems more fair for all members, who are working under a very wide range of contracts and wage scales.

a percentage of income dues structure seems aboyt 150% more fair to me..all puns intended - the most important factor being the floor (or lowest rate) and the ceiling (the highest rate) -

Percentage, no cap (the cap lowers the percentage of the highest earners: the opposite of fair; it defeats the point of making it percentage based)

I agree. I have to go inactive in order to meet my dues requirements while living out of state.
