I don't understand why the council hasn't done something, this death would not have happened

It shouldn't take a tradgedy like this to make the council do their job. Too much money is spent on the wrong things.

I live very close to this crossing and have noticed over the years, as a pedestrian and a motorist that traffic does not stop as it should on this crossing. Therefore there is a definite need for traffic lights to ensure that motorists must stop!

Instead of spending pounds and pounds of council tax payers money of pointless traffic calming measures ie rochdale road royton, some of the money should be used to make this zebra crossing and some others in the area a safer place to cross for both children and adults alike.
It is to dark and there is to many people getting Killed be cars and bus's
traffic lights are a must.
