This is another example of ignorance in dealing with people with dual diseases. The sad part is the "hospital" is suppose to know what they are doing. Obviously, they didn't want to deal with Daniel anymore.

This an outrageous act of injustice and handled very inaapropriately. Corrective action and viable treatment should definitely be implemented. ASAP

If your staff isn't trained in mental health or dual diagnosis then they shouldn't be working in your facility. If they are they should use precaution but compassion and deal with the situation appropriately. Therapist are NOT to give their personal but professional opinions and have the best interest of the patient at heart.

Mental illness can lead to substance abuse. I lived for years with my late husband and his 'bi-polar' disorder. It ruined our lives. He literally drank himself to death. Would not wish this on anyone.

Something has to be done! My daughter was in a behavioral center and told she wasn't sick enough even though she tried to take her own life, she was arrested that night. Not given anything to ween her off of methadone...it was brutal! They kept her naked in a straight jacket for 3 days... horrifying!!! Please help!!!
