Infrastructure First, Broughton Astley Village

We already have issues with hundreds of cars using Frolesworth as a ‘rat run’ , it can’t possibly take the extra thousand cars that building this estate would mean

Broughton Astley is big enough! we really don't need or want further floods in the village.

I live on Frolesworth road, how many more floods due to poor drainage do we have to have before fifth water enters our houses, I havelived there for 20 years and it happens at least 3-4 times a year!!!

Too many Lorries passing through even to Magna Park which is being made bigger near Ullesthorpe.

Don't wreak the village and put it under water!!!

Please think about the infrastructure before you build more homes. As with the other villages locally they became really difficult to get through. More housing will make this much worse.

Future infrastructure capacity must be in place before building more houses.

The whole issue of flooding is unacceptable to all local residents and will only increase in severity when even mor building of any description adds to the water run-off into the inadequate drainage system currently in place.

There is too much flooding as it is and over subscribed facilities without the addition of another estate

Huge concern with the development in Broughton Astley. It’s on a flood plain. Traffic through the village is building leading to safety issues around key junctions around a small village network. The doctors surgery is difficult even for a simple blood test. We have issues with thuggery and young adults wrecking the little leisure space we have. The flood plain is in part vital for ecological reasons and managed correctly it’s a water outlet for hundreds of years to come. Concreting over that is going to cause issues for everyone to pacify a few. It’ll be difficult ultimately to mortgage and insure the properties leading to a risk of dereliction. Reputable builders should not entertain building in these types of areas anywhere.

No infrastructure

No real thought has been given to the effect on the environment or infrastructure of the village in this proposal to build homes in this area. Consider those already here not those to come.

Roads and local schools will not sustain the additional loads and the drainage system is currently fragile with Frolsworth road flooding and impassable during periods of heavy rain.

Also flooding on the land at the end of Crowfoot Way where another builder what’s to build 30 new homes, which residents were told would be landscaped and allotments!

It is time to stop kicking the can down the road and actually stop, look at the huge issues we already have & listen the people that are going to be hugely affected by this if you railroad it through! The consequences further down the line will ruin people - not being able to sell a property due to flood risk, constant misery for those already affected by their properties being flooded twice a year, financial ruin & unable to afford house insurance following multiple claims, financial ruin to smaller independent businesses, particularly local estates agency businesses which in turn will drive businesses out of the village …the list goes on! STOP! Just stop & do the necessary, right & proper thing and insist that the current flood issues are dealt with properly prior to any further irreparable damage & stress being caused to the villager & people residing within!

The repeated flooding issues need to be addressed before any further building should take place. The river needs to be cleared of weeds, which should be a simple task. The flooding of Frolesworth Road is a serious issue which needs attention urgently and the junction of Frolesworth Road needs traffic lights and a crossing before someone is seriously hurt.

We need every avenue looked at, reassessed, and looked at again.. this is just absolutely ludicrous a development could be given the go ahead on such wet land

This isn't a new problem. This has been going on far to long. If they build on frowlesworth road it will only make the matter worse
