We have two children at JCCC. The decisions made by SD43 greatly impact our children. They has been no dialogue between SD43 and the community that is being affected. It is extremely difficult to find quality daycare and these decisions give families LESS THAN 3 months notice to secure alternatives. We ask SD43 to start open communication with daycare communities affected, and try to find solutions together.

If the goal of this omnipotent decision was to increase stress on families and children - good on you. If your goal was to put further stress & guilt on the shoulders of grandparents who cannot physically offer help to their most beloved children & grandchildren - good on you. If your goal was to add stress to those who cared for our families by ripping their jobs from them - good for you. If your goal was to show your omniscient power over the people who voted you in - in a democratic community - you score again. Question?- do you have any compassion or feeling of right & wrong? If so, where are the information meetings for questions & discussion from all concerned with the decisions you have arbitrarily deemed appropriate?

I have two kids that go to the daycare and one of them attends is a mountain meadows student and attends the before and after school care and I can't afford the stress and the challenge that this unfair decision will me in. Not to mention, the stress on my kids as well, they have established a very strong bond with everyone in the daycare and this will have a negative affect on them. This decision should be strongly reconsidered and a fair compromise, for the sake of all the children, should be rethought.

We have two daughters that have been with JCC since 2010. This is extremely challenging for us to manage in a short period of time, not to mention the stress on our kids.

There is nothing a parent wouldn't do for their child. An emergency meeting to discuss alternative solutions could have been planned and well attended by parents within days of knowing there was a space issue.

My daughter has been attending Junior Citizens since jan. Since then, this daycare and their wonderful staff have become an extension of our family. She loves them and I Trust them completely. This decision is not only terribly unfair on the parents, but the children that have formed strong bonds with the staff. We hope that the school district can come to a better resolution that takes into account the needs of all parties, instead of what it seems like a unilateral and misguided decision.

We are asking the District to reconsider its decision and to ensure that the kids have proper accommodation after school.

Both of my kids go to JCCC before and after school care. They practically helped rasing my daughter since she was 2 years old. I don't understand why JCCC has to give up their classroom when the other daycare's room has to go?? Many of the kids in JCCC came there when they were just babies. As parents, we trust them. This trust didn't just happen one day. It goes way back. We built that trust together as families, rasing our babies together!

Our two children are have both been enrolled with JCCC for 2 years and our daughter is among those moving on to kindergarten in September. SD43's lack of consideration for the impact of this decision and the deadline imposed are appalling. SD43 must offer the affected parents and families in the community some recourse to influence this decision.

My daughter loves attending daycare at this school. It will be heartbreaking to have to put her somewhere else. Where she doesn't know the teachers or fellow classmates.

My 2.5 year old daughter attends JCCC and so does her 3 year old cousin. They have both attended since 1 years old. This will impact our family greatly! There should have been a meeting with all respective groups to discuss this and come up with a solution that would work for all before making a decision about this.

Our 2 kids have gone to junior citizens since 2008, from daycare at the age of 1 to before and after school care up to grade 4. JCCC provide the most continuity of child care from babies to school age kids. It has been such a comfort to know both my kids are in the same daycare/building despite one being in full day daycare and one being in school and out of school care. It makes no sense to lower the census of the daycare that provides a full range of services instead of the one that only offers out of school care. This proposal would have families changing daycares once their kids reach school age, which is an additional stressor for families in our community. Please find an alternative solution that meets the needs of the families in the mountain meadows community and does not place unnecessary stress and anxiety.

This effects both my grandchildren and my children. I know several of the other parents and their children and grandparents this will also spread to their friends and family too. Please reconsider this decision as it truly is a wrong decision and as you see this daycare has seeded roots in the community and will displace many children.

The closure of this program illustrates how our government has not prioritized early childhood and public school education. In order to restore public classroom learning conditions, early childhood education is being even more impacted. Shame!

I have 2 children in the out of school care program at JCCC. The manner in which this decision was made and the timeline given to parents is unacceptable. JCCC offers a service to the community that is exceptionally hard to find. It seems to me that a better solution can be found. I implore the decision makers on this issue to work harder and better to find a more reasonable solution that will affect less families and children.

We were informed of this troubling situation recently and now after proper reflection feel compelled to speak out in order to better understand how the decision that was made was somehow considered to be the optimal solution. Given the scarcity of available daycare spots, wait lists, etc in the community I find this 3 month notice period that was given to be simply unacceptable. One would think a school/principal/school board would fight to protect the interests of the children and families in their communities. Our family will be directly impacted by this decision as our son was to begin daycare at JCCC beginning July. Now, months after securing one of these valuable daycare spots we find ourselves scrambling to find alternatives and see nothing but long wait lists with other groups, which is obviously far less than ideal given that our 4 year old daughter currently attends JCCC and this would mean that we would have to do 2 separate drop offs and pickups each day. And that's if we are incredibly lucky and actually get a space in some miraculous way. The more likely scenario would be we don't find anything and my wife can't go back to work which will create an issue with her employer and cause us great financial hardship while we patiently wait for a space somewhere. I'm not privy to what the lease arrangement was with the school but even if everything has been done per the agreement this hardly seems to be the right way to conduct business when it negatively impacts children and families in such fashion. I'm appealing today for all groups involved to open a line of communication and work together to find a solution in order to minimize the impact on the children and families involved. The decision that was made is simply unacceptable.

It is completely unreasonable to expect parents to find alternate daycare for outnod school or infants in such a short time period. We have two children in JCCC and CKC has a waitlist that will not make displaced JCCC kids a priority. Where is the compromise for parents?
