PETITION FOR THE REMOVAL OF OTTO PFISTER To: His Excellency, President Paul Biya, President of The Republic of Cameroon cc: Mr. Augustin Edjoa, Minister of Sports cc: Mr. Iya Mohammed, FECAFOOT President We, Cameroonians resident abroad for love of country and our fatherland hereby respectfully request that the coach of our beloved Indomitable Lions, Mr. Otto Pfister be fired from his job in the national team. The decision to hire Mr. Otto Pfister was a unilateral decision by the Minister of Sports, Mr. Augustin Edjoa which was not in conformity with the recommendations from the original committee set up for this purpose. The original committee was made up of members from the Ministry of Sports and members of FECAFOOT. Mr. Otto Pfister did not make it to the shortlist of five, but was later hired as the coach. At the signing ceremony for the hiring of the coach the President of FECAFOOT Mr. Iya Mohammed who was present, did not append his signature to Mr. Otto Pfister's contract. Another committee headed by Ambassador Roger Milla recommended the national team coach, Mr. Otto Pfister be replaced. The peformance of the Indomitable Lions within the last year has been well below par for a football team of Cameroon's stature. The team spirit has been at an all time low due in part to the fact that Mr. Otto Pfister is not performing his duties very well and now forms a sore to the entire delegation leading up to the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. Cameroon risks not qualifying. We cannot afford such a high risk, for a stitch in time saves nine. We, Cameroonians resident abroad hereby request Mr. Otto Pfister to be fired from his job as national team coach and be replaced by someone who is more deserving of this huge responsibility.
