I've experienced this in TN also. They also have tablets that they charge 5$ A DAY to use in knox county, TN. You can do video visits and emails but after the 5$ u pay to use it for 24hrs you have to pay additional. 49cents PER EMAIL to your family. And the family has to pay to set up a account to email u. Also all video visits are 10$ a piece. It's crazy. When I asked where the money was going from the tablets and visits they told me to buy new police cars, and security stuff for them. NEW TOYS FOR THEM. Screw this!!!!!

Physical contact is a human right! Video visits will NEVER be the same as contact visits. This is unethical!!!!

Please return the visitations back the wayit was before so that fathers can play with their children and us seniors would love to give our love ones a hug and bring back the tables .

This is not fair to toddler or children that has to go the whole 2 hours without having any snacks or food. Kids snack through out the day. Letting the visitis suffer not being able to eat after driving for hours to come and see their love ones and family. This is breaking families up not being able to have a normal visit. Eat as a family at the table,instead of not eating at all. That is just plain ridiculous.

I think it is unfair to the inmates that they cannot even go to a play area with their kids and play games or color with them. It is also unfair the tsbles were removed and we are no longer allowed to hold hands with our loved ones. A brief hug and kiss in beginning is good but one at the end would be better. I am upset with the visitation the way it is now and i want it back to the way it was. I have several people that would agree with me.

The changes to the visits are ridiculous and need to be changed back to what they originally were. You are causing people to not visit which in turn upsets our lived ones. These changes will cause more unrest in the prisons because they are not seeing their loved ones because of the new visit rules.

I am so grateful for this petition trying to get our contact visits returned, this has put added stress on our loved ones who are inmates not to mention their loved ones who needs that hug or held hands of assurance that all is still ok! We travel over 700 miles every 6 months to visit with our brother/son who is at the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility and to have a no contact visit is so impersonal, our mother is in poor health and her time for being able to make that hard trip is getting closer to an end. Please continue the fight for our inmates, I am praying for the 1000 signature goal to be met! Thank You!

I can only visit my son every 6 months and I look forward to our contact visit and to be able to hug his neck and hold his hand, please return the contact visits! This is the only joy I have per visits because he and I both know I will not live to see him released unless God intervenes and performs a miracle. Thank you!

Please get the contact visits restored!! We travel over 700 miles to visit our brother/son in Wabash Valley Correctional Facility and our mother is 88 years old and in poor health we can only come every 6 months and Mother needs to be able to hug her son and hold his hand during visits, she enjoys being able to eat a meal with him at the visits even if it is vending machine food! Thank You!

My mother myself and my 3 sisters travel over 700 miles to visit our family member in Wabash Valley Correctional Facility every 6 months and due to our mothers health issues her time for visiting her son is growing to a close! Please return our contact visits our mother needs to be able to hug him and hold his hand! Thank You

There are no more tables during the visits and it is not only inconveniencing for the inmate, but also for the visitor. We have to place our belongings on the floor. Also, they are not able to hold their children, which I believe is inhumane. Some men are here for many years and for them not to be able to have physical contact with their children is simply wrong. They should be able to hold them and spend quality physical time with them.

I visit my nephew at the Wabash Valley Correctional Center. The recent changes that have been put in place are awful. The visitation rules make me feel like I have done something wrong for visiting! First it was that the visitors have to leave the building to use the restroom which meant that they had to go back the main building use the bathroom, then go get rechecked- wanded, scanned, patted down, shoes off, then go back to the visit, and only if there was enough visitation time left. It was hard, but we dealt with it. Then we were able to purchase food and drinks from the vending machines and take it to the tables and visit with our loved ones. That changed to food on plates or napkins and everything having to be opened before it could go to the table, to no tables, and now we can’t even have a snack with them. We can purchase up to $30 worth of snacks to send back with them for later-and I’m sure that there are challenges for our loved ones with that too. But it was also hard on us. Then also with the no tables, we have to sit so far away. I have hearing issues and this new rule makes it so I cannot hardly hear my loved one, and our conversations now feel open to the room and less personal, and it feels so alienating for us not to be able to touch even their hand. Just that little gesture of support went such a long way for all of us. The next change -we were able to get a hug and kiss at the beginning and end of the visit. This meant the world to all of us. It let the offender feel that they were still loved while letting the family still receive love from the offender. Sometimes I don’t get to see my nephew regularly- so when I finally do see him, I need that extra because I don’t know when I’ll see him next-and then sometimes what I had to tell him made me want to get a hug /kiss at the end of the visit just to help me feel better about what I told him- we are also looking to our offenders to still support us emotionally too!! This new environment doesn’t

My son's in there an it's hurt him mentally an physically all this mess no contact visits an me driving 900 miles only a couple times a year . Now no dentist there !!!
