Why make families bitter toward a harsh system? They are still loved...

I am horrified that jails and prisons are isolating people from direct human contact from those who love them. Deprivation has never made things better.

It is inhumane and unnatural to isolate people, families, children completely from having any physical contact. I can say I know first hand how torturous and cruel this is as I have had to only visit with my husband via video chat before. The pain of this isolation, not even being able to physical see him was excruciating!!!!

My son is in Miami correctional facility and the last time I was there I couldn't hug my baby. Since my son has been incarcerated I've been very ill I would like to be able to wrap my arms around my baby boy. Since he's been there he's had absolutely no write ups he's been on good behavior I just want to hug my baby boy

My fiance is about to be sentenced in December, he hasn't hugged his kids in a year, if this no contact law is a law it will be another 10 years before they can hug. That is inhumane for not only the inmates but for the children and families involved as well.

Not only is this absolute cruelty to the human beings behind the wall but also to their loved ones. By keeping people from having contact with loved ones you are causing them to shut down all feelings of unity and caring. You are not only helping to create an unsafe environment behind the walls but it will leak out into society and eventually cost more in not just money but also in lives.

It is inhumane and unjust for inmates not to be able to have contact with their loved ones during visitation. The thought of a parent not being able to hold, hug or touch their child is sickening. The thought of a husband/wife, parent or other family member not being to kiss, hug or touch is despicable. The reason given is shameful. For some these visits are the only thing they have to look forward to, their only contact to the outside world. In some facilities families cannot share food and in others they cannot even share a meal together because inmates are made to take their purchased food back to their cell. Visits should be a means to enforce the family bond. The food is unreasonably high prices and I'm not sure about other facilities but water is not even offered as a drink option. The mail policy is also ridiculous. Families have been restricted from sending cards, pictures etc. Changes need to be made.

This needs to be fix soon, breaking families only create a negative impact in their way of recovery.
