These are challenging times in life right now. Over the past 14 years I have seen many changes to youth sports, mostly all implemented towards the safety and overall development of the athlete. So, mandate masks, require temperature checks prior to practices and games, administer weekly COVID testing. You will find that the athletes will comply to your guidelines as long as they are permitted to compete on the same stage where they have mastered their skills for many years. You have the power to keep their dreams alive!

My son plays ice hockey. Ice hockey rinks/ arenas are huge rooms. I would say many are in rooms 1/2 to 3/4 the size of a target or Home Depot store. The amount of space in these ice rinks allows for proper social distancing of fairly large numbers of players and spectators. It makes sense that ice rinks could do very well with a 25% allowable that is used in supermarkets and large stores. These young athletes need their sports to stay physically and mentally healthy.

The inside of these sport facilities, especially hockey are bigger than most retail box stores and there isn’t such a silly limit when you go to Walmart, target, etc

We had a great weekend in Connecticut watching our boys play hockey & we were able to watch as well. Everyone kept their space & respected the rules & it was a great 2 days for our kids to have some normalcy.

The athletes and parents are responsible enough to be socially distanced at these events. Raising the indoor capacity beyond 25 should happen ASAP

All involved, rink owners & staff, parents, players & coaches are all responsible enough to follow social distancing and Covid guidelines to keep all involved safe. There is NO reason why rinks can't hold more that 60 people and NO reason why there has to be a limit on the ice of 25 or less for two teams, refs and coaches.

All for increasing the indoor capacity from 25. I know how to distance and be safe at 6' plus away from others.
