Co-pays are so high it’s like I don’t have dental insurance.

I’ve had my dentist for 10 years and was just dropped. We need better reimbursement for dentists so we don’t have to constantly find new ones.

I want dental care that I can afford and often I pay out hundreds from my pocket.

I had a $6,000 dental procedure and the welfare fund covered $110. Even to get that, I needed to file 3 times. That's not insurance. 75% increase is insufficient! Real insurance covers the full cost, less a nominal copay or deductible.

I recently attempted to contact UFT about pre posed dental work and it has also been challenging getting assistance or answers. I received a dental recommendation for $20,000. worth of work but our UFT current plan seems to only cover 1% of the necessary work. This is a very low percentage and I would hope for better coverage. It is already challenging navigate the world of dentistry; finding a trustworthy dentist is difficult, trusting that the dentist is doing correct and quality work and not to mention the expense of it all. Teachers deserve better service, coverage and assistance!
