It costs so much money to do any procedure! It shouldn’t be so much for something that is necessary

We need better dental coverage. I’ve been dropped by several dentists and I pay out of pocket at my dentist.

My dentist dropped UFT because of their lack of reimbursement. It feels like we don't even have dental insurance.

I had to pay almost $300 to fix a broken filling, something that I have never done with any other dental insurance. That is not acceptable!

The dental coverage does not offer enough or any coverage for major dental work such as crowns, implants, emergency extractions. These costs are very expensive.

I am joining my fellow educators in making this request.
Please improve our UFT Welfare Fund's Dental Care Plan. In every way. For example:
-Increase in In-Network Providers
-Increase and/or Add Coverage for Procedures
(example: braces, implants)
-Increase Reimbursements to Providers for
Services
-Lower Out-of-Pocket Costs
Our current UFT Welfare Fund’s dental plan has high out-of-pocket costs for members. The number of in-network dentists is shrinking.
Spiralling costs for dental health care cause UFT members to make decisions such as foregoing a needed dental procedure. This can in turn lead to declining dental, physical, and mental health.
We, UFT members, demand that the Welfare Fund Trustees raise reimbursement rates in order to decrease out-of-pocket costs for members and increase the number of in-network dentists so that members have more choices and better outcomes when it comes to our dental health.

We need a better dental plan which include implants. The copays are way more than what our current insurance will pay.

We’re in a race to bottom for dental care. It’s time to fix reimbursement rates and expand the number of practices that take our insurance.
