Increase Utah Nursing Wages

Pay these professionals what they're worth! All Utah RNs need fair, competitive wages NOW

I have worked for hca for 11 years. I am married, have four kids and worked worked (plus more when the unit/hospital needed). My focus to my job has been a priority. The amount of energy, money, and care I provide at my own expense is great. I’ve never felt my compensation matched what I give. I’ve taken in more responsibility, roles, expertise with no additional Compensation. I do it because I care about my patient, their experience, their outcomes and I value my peer nurses so highly that I will not leave them short staffed, or not staffed appropriately. It is time we are paid and appreciated with compensation fair to market value and higher costs of living. It is time that we correct the negative work environment brought on by the changes and stresses of life. The employees that have left our hospital to travel or just leave for a higher wage is amazing. I’d say more than 50% of our hospital staff has left. I’m sure I’m understating the exact number. Where is the commitment and compensation for those who stay? For those who work more? For those who give their loyalty freely with little acknowledgement or respect? It is a frustrating time in healthcare. But you can do better for UTAH. We do amazing for you!

I hope other states would follow Utah as well. We need more money and more people helping patients

As a nurse I believe that if we don’t fix this issue now it will lead to detrimental repercussions in the entire medical field!

Pay should be comenscerate with responsibilities, and ours is not. Professionally licensed healthcare workers deserve a livable wage ✊

I received a 0.83 cent hourly raise. First raise since pandemic started. I have stayed with HCA during the pandemic and this is how they treat me. I could have made $4000+ a wk or went to another hospital that paid more. I endured through the hardship of gas, food, rent… raising, for what, 0.83 cents! Wow!!! When the CEO gets bonuses along with his 8 figure salary. It’s so frustrating!

I’ve been a nurse for 20+ years and have reached the pitiful post cap with Intermountain. With the outrageous cost of living in the state of Utah, something has got to change. The nursing shortage will continue to impact patient care and satisfaction as well as the education and training of those entering the profession.

Please raise the wages! Housing has gone up 2x and it’s sad that an RN cannot afford to purchase a home on their own due to the super low compensation in Utah! It’s ridiculous and very sad! I had to move out of Utah because of this!

I intended to work five more years at a HCA faculty in FL, but retired last year to avoid the stresses involved in working with a constantly revolving staff. As a PRN employee I was paid a reasonable hourly rate, but my heart went out to my younger colleagues who had no options but to continue working in a non-supportive environment.

I am a nurse and only got a $0.81/hr increase for cost of living increases. My daughter who is a psych tech got a $2.00/hour increase. It's not right. We literally save lives and kill our bodies to do it. We deserve more!

Quaility Nursing a must need more incentives to bring in new blood

Compared to living costs and the responsibilities that nurses hold we need increased pay.

The wage raises for seasoned nurses has never been a reason to stay, but has been tolerated in the past. But with the raise in cost of living it’s not tolerated anymore.
