I have heard that some new grads have gotten a $10,000 sign on bonus. And are getting paid to finish their capstone hours. I have been working at this hospital for almost 15 years and it kind of feels like a slap in the face.

I support the need to increase nursing salaries in Utah to be more competitive with Nevada and the rest of the western US.

At current nursing wages it is very difficult to feel like a valued nurse. I agree that our recent <$1/hr wage increase was a slap in the face. Many nurses are feeling the financial pinch right now and we should be fairly compensated.

I agree with this. We work long hours and hard work. Increasing fuel and housing is causing a toll and making this difficult. A raise would be gratefully appreciated.

I can't afford my life anymore with this job... and my life is not glamorous! When rent costs more than a paycheck, I will not be able to own a home in Utah County ever. We really need and deserve a huge pay increase. We should make triple to quadrupme what an unskilled and low responsibility job makes for a high school student....

Tired of being asked to do more with less and for less. Tired of the all talk and no action from our leadership. Nurses deserve better. We pull through and show up for everyone else. Now it's time for someone to return the favor.

I have been at Timpanogos hospital for 4 years. I recently went part time to pick up another job that pays more to make ends meet. The inflation rates in Utah continue to rise yet my pay is stagnant. Don’t know how much longer I’ll be at Timp, let alone in the state of Utah. Timpanogos used to be full of people who had been there for “years” now every unit I admit patients to I’m greeted by more and more new faces as those who have been here have left for greener pastures. We are left in a hospital staffed by new grads and little experience which makes my job more stressful and unsafe. Pay more and retain your experienced nurses!!!

I am a nurse that has worked at timp for 10 years. Just had my anniversary in March and I love it. I love my job. My coworkers and my director bit have recently left for a travel position in Idaho to make ends meet. Cost of living has boomed and my wage has barely changed. I have wondered why we are offering sign on bonuses to new nurses but nothing is done to retain loyal trained nurses. So very frustrating. Working at a different facility has also opened my eyes to how staffing should be and how unsafe I feel with the ratios at timp. Makes me very sad because I feel like timp is my home.

I quit my job at Timpanogos hospital in April because of many of the issues this petition addresses. Nurses are leaving their profession quicker than ever. We deserve much more than what we are given.

I agree fully with this petition. It’s getting harder and harder to afford this job. I feel administration sees us as expendable commodities. The latest “raise” was a demoralizing and offensive slap in the face.
