I agree that the a.s.i.h should go up I get a small disability cheque from the states and they deduct it I only receive $1,110.00 a month and every time my cheque goes up by a few dollars they cut my cheque down I have to pay more A.T.M fees just to get my money out I feel that our Income should go up to at least $4.500.00 a month and not to deduct my social security income there is no way a person can live on the little amount they give you. let the government try living on this amount.

I fully support this increase as I have been homeless already because of the lack of support and funding this program has. We live below poverty and are expected to live like this with next to no help from other resources. Even basic quality of life is ring dismissed. It’s outrageous compared to the cost of living. I don’t even get my full amount and am struggling even more because of that.

Minimum wage is increasing to $15 an hour, which means everything is going to cost more. Please take care of our citizens.

My husband retired at 65 and Aish stopped because he received his federal pension CPP OAS and GIS all with low income amounts. Aish then took did an income adjustment and proceeded to take away all my monthly income just leaving me $161 to live on . They are leaving us with less money now to live on because we are married and we both have permanent disabilities . They reduced it all because we are seniors. I am 62. We have many health problems. Too many to mention. I also have Cancer. We can barely survive are physically unable to work and are in debt. We are close to being homeless. If my husband could work part time I would receive nothing from Aish. What a disgrace to be the forgotten ones by our government in general and treated as non contributing non valued members of our society .We are Lowered to the demeaning status of beggars .Our ongoing pleas for a decent benefit increase in monthly benefits falling on the deaf ears of ignorance by our members of parliament

I'm in a assisted living facility right now and after aish pays my rent I have 315$ for the rest of the month! And still have to pay bills! I'm greatful for the aish program but I'm unable to work to make a few extra bucks.

Below the poverty line. With no increases to combat inflation or the rise in the cost of living. The true actual value of $1600 in 2018 dollars compared to $1600 in 2002 dollars is actually $1000 and falling. The strength of any group can be determined by observing the weakest in society. If that link in the chain breaks...society breaks.

With the increases on rent, utilities, transportation, & food in Calgary, in Alberta, it is nearly impossible to cover the basic needs

I also agree that $1588 is not much to live off. if we had an increase to above that too 2000.00 it would certainly make like easier that is for sure and as a person who suffers from Chronic disease, PTSD, and other disease that dont have a cure to them makes life not easy but a struggle to even survive. As $ 1800.00 is ok but if you look at it is only an extra $300.00 per month not much but I would defiantly take the increase as it would help me get out of debt. on another note I would like to see our case workers live on $1588 per month and lets see if they make it to the end of the month with money in their pockets.

Living on Aish is not a walk in the park For people with Disabilities. The income that is set out That being 1588 a month does not cut it.People are takingOut payday loans which is gouging people who dont not know better and are hard up for money. This is no way to live .We the Disabled need inncome assistance soon or we will end up on the street. No way to live.Frustrated

I can't swallow and don't have a diagnosis yet so the Drs won't give me a tube or fluid. I spent $350 on iv supplies in one month. This is not counting all the other things that come with being disabled. The govt won't cover it bc my loser Drs didn't write the prescription. I'm going homeless trying to save my life and they don't fn care - one day I will carry my iv bag with a plaster and sit outside the aish office or hospital

I have friends who are on aish and who need aish and are not reaping much benefit from it. I agree with the petition.

I aggree. The income exeption should be eased to 200/month and the AISH monthly allowance should be raised to $2400.
